Several years ago our co-founder needed to have a major renovation done to his town home. Using one of the largest service providers in the nation he was matched to a contractor. The contractor didn’t tell him his house would be unlivable and he and his family would be forced to live in a hotel for over a month. And if that wasn’t enough the contractor disappeared in the middle of the project leaving a partially-finished disaster. When he contacted the company that matched him to that contractor they told him it wasn’t their problem. He knew there had to be a better way and formed HomeNovator.

HomeNovator has a single focus: Take the pain out of the home improvement process. HomeNovator acts as the homeowner’s advocate, matching their needs to the best contractor and being at their side with payment protection. No one but HomeNovator takes the high-touch approach of speaking directly with homeowners and tracking projects from start-to-finish. In the process HomeNovator aids contractors by pre-qualifying homeowners, collecting project details and fostering productive communication.
